Our Values

GATHER in Worship

We believe Church is a people, not a place. Our Sunday morning worship gatherings provide the context for us to experience God’s presence as a people. We value meeting together regularly, uniting as a faith family, worshiping the Living God, hearing the Word and living it in community, and remembering and celebrating what God has done for us. We believe that this weekly worship gathering sets the rhythm and tone for the way we live as God’s people the rest of the week.

GROW in Faith

We believe that humans are spiritual and everyone receives spiritual formation. The question is, who is shaping the formation? We hunger to be transformed into Christ-likeness for the sake of others. We long for Jesus to form us as he lives with us, in us, and through us in outward behavior, purposeful calling, and Spirit-filled heart transformation. We want our lives to be different in texture and aroma so that we exude something other-worldly, distinct from the values and priorities of our time and culture. We cherish the role genuine community plays as we embark on our personal journeys together through both formal (Small Groups, classes, spiritual disciplines) and informal activities (sharing meals, play, fellowship).

GO in Mission

We value missional living. Being missional is not primarily about church growth, social justice, or using Christian jargon. We believe the church is to be God’s instrument of mission in the world, rather than mission being an instrument of the church. We believe that everything we do is part of God’s mission because we are the “sent ones” of God. God uses the gifts and talents of our congregation to build his kingdom in our church, neighborhood, and to the ends of the earth. We strive to be a people compelled by Christ’s love, marked by generous, sacrificial, humble, and radical giving of our best resources and selves for God’s purposes in the world.
